Traveling in Today's World, Trip #1

If you are a travel lover, the past two years has been a real exercise in fear, frustration and patience.  As a travel advisor, my world definitely flipped upside down.  Being an advocate for my clients has always been my pleasure but not so much when I spent hours upon hours handling cancellations and trying to assure very upset clients that everything would work out.  I can tell you the gratitude I have felt from my clients has been overwhelming.  I believe that Travel advisors proved their worth in 2020 and into 2021!

When Covid started to ease up, I stepped out and began traveling again.  In April, my husband and I flew to NYC to see our daughter and son-in-law for a long weekend.  Pitfalls?  1) Having to mask up for the duration of the airport and flight experience,  2) We stayed at a lovely hotel in the city but they were short-staffed and the housekeeping was not up-to-par.  The manager was very gracious and comped our room for one night.  Never be afraid to speak out if your expectations are not met.  One of the best ways to provide an opportunity for improvement is to voice your concerns.  Blessings? Not having to test negative for Covid prior to travel and being able to hold our girl close and spend quality time together.  Get out of your comfort zone, stay as safe as possible, hug those you love tightly.

Stay tuned...My next blog post will be my experience traveling out of the country to Turks & Caicos and Riviera Maya, Mexico.
